Although the role earned the actress immense popularity but she felt that her acting abilities would be hampered due to the Mary Camden image. In order to break this image, she wore a t-shirt and a skirt for the cover picture of Gear magazine. Jessica's actions caused a lot of debate among her fan base. When she performed in the season 6 of 7th Heaven, Jessica left. In the film Ulee's Gold, she gained instant recognition for her excellent acting.
